I really liked the idea of playing with knowledge. I noticed, in my practicum, that children learn better when they don’t realize they are being taught something. This should be one of the first learning strategy future teachers learn to use at school… but it’s not.
I totally agree with the idea that imagination is the key to create. Even if it may seem something innate, I personally don’t think it is. Imagination has to be practice over and over to be more efficient. We should encourage students to use their imagination by giving them a lot of creative activities and have them using their imagination as often as possible.
Also, the man in the video mentioned that the best way to learn is to teach. It’s funny because we would first think that to be able to teach something, we should have to master it very well first, but that’s not true! I often study this way. I act like a teacher to an invisible audience and this way, I remember everything!!
This video was really interesting. This is too bad that not much people give a try on these new teaching strategies or at least take them into consideration. I think it would be a great advancement for the field of teaching.

Blog assigment #4
I had no idea what to say about my computer class management skills until I had to do an activity in a computer laboratory with my practicum groups. I was a little scared about the idea to bring them in a computer lab because I knew that it wouldn’t be easy to control the whole class there.
At the moment the secondary 2 students learned they were going to the lab, they became really excited. So, before to leave the class, I made sure everyone was really aware of the rules they had to follow there. I repeated over and over again the same rules just to make sure everything will be taken seriously.
Finally, it went very well there. Nothing special happened. What I realized there is you never know what’s going to happen. The only control you can have is to give enough info to the kids to the rules and what could be the consequences that might happen if they don’t follow them. The rest is unknown.
I guess being calm is the key to succeed in this environment. I know I’m not the best with computers, but I can be incredibly well prepared to advise the students!

To be honest, I found this text hard to understand at some part. I tried my best to understand, and actually there’s one element that really caught my attention. The author mentioned “I believe software quality is low because companies focus more on control than on innovation or quality.”
This is a good example that demonstrates how these rich companies became almost like slaves of their own success. Is this all about money? Are these people more concerned about keeping the monopoly than about improving what has once been their vision?
More efforts should be put on innovation and on increasing the quality, but it’s not what is happening right now. It is sad to notice that, again, making money is all what matters.
This industry is really proliferating, and I guess it is easy to fall for money when it is so accessible. However, I hope one day, the progress will be put first.

After my readings, I started thinking that as future teachers, we have to take care of our online identity. We are in the generation of hundreds of technology. It is a good thing for us to know how to use them because using them in our teaching strategies can be a nice way to catch the attention of our students.
Facebook is a nice example of the software we are used to. However, I think we should take our precautions with that kind of software. I’m not saying we shouldn’t use it, but I think we have to do everything possible to keep our credibility in front of our student.
In my opinion, it is possible to do so. The secret is just to stay coherent. Our image on the net has to reflect our image in the classroom, or at least in student’s mind.
We have to assume that one day or another, our students may find pictures or anything on our account (like facebook), and we have to make sure we are totally comfortable to deal with it before to put it there.
